Seems he asked for comment. So I just share my experience in how to read the code that reflecting the bet number.
Like what I said the total sum value is 15,16 and 17.
15 = 5550 (Impossible become M4)
16 = 5560 (Can consider) 
17 = 5570 (Can consider)
My piece of advise, don't assume if you close the card people cannot read. Old timer is skillful enough to rectify the bet number.

Hmmm.. From the binary code, we should know by now the total sum value is in between 15, 16 and 17.
The nos is 5xx0 and its M12
If Double 5 will be (55x0) = x will be 5,6,7
If Double 0 will be (50x0) = x will be 10, 16, 17
So double 0 cannot get the sum value of 15 16 and 17.
What else Double 5 lah and x cannot be 5 coz it become M4. So x only 6 and 7.
Prove me if I am wrong
