Magnum posts lower Q1 net profit

GAMING firm Magnum Corp Bhd saw an almost 8 per cent decline in its first-quarter net profit due to lower contributions from its gaming operations.
Contribution from gaming was lower by RM1.4 million as higher sales were offset by higher prize payout ratio.
Despite the dip in profit, Magnum is optimistic that its mBox initiative will contribute positively to the growth of its gaming sales.
Magnum registered a net profit of RM60.4 million for the first quarter ended March 31 2006, down from RM65.51 million in the same quarter last year.
Revenue was RM780.1 million, up 4 per cent from what it made a year ago.
The revenue increase was mainly due to higher gaming sales, which grew by 4.2 per cent despite having two draws less than the previous year. 投稿于 2006-05-30 17:46:58 |
